At last this one is quilted and finished. I struggled a bit with the colour of the binding. But I'm happy with the narrow blue with a hint of yellow I've chosen.

Micromini
It's May and time for micromini quilts. My first ones this time are made into beautiful pincushions. And when I first started, I couldn't stop. So I made six of them, two with tabs. I don't often use these colours, but now I see that they are beautiful.

Scrappy quilt finished
In October last year I started this scrappy quilt. I finished it a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot to show you. Here it is. It's made with only one size scraps, 2 1/2" x 4 1/2". The blocks are so easy to sew. You can see the start of it here, and there it's also possible to study how one block is made.

Chilhowie Mystery Quilt
Last week I finished the binding for my little Chilhowie. I made just 4 out of 16 blocks. But I found it very interesting to be a part of this mystery by Bonnie Hunter even though I couldn't make the entire quilt. My talented longarm quilter Sølvi Mikkelsen quilted it for me.
With the nice weather we have just now, it was fun to take the quilt to the sea to take some photoes.

Colourwash quilt
In October last year I started this quilt by digging into my scrap bins. Now it's finished, and has been exhibited at the annual meeting of the Norwegian Quilt Association last weekend. It was a project I did together with my friend Margun. We started the blocks together and then made them at home, in different parts of Norway. After three months we met again and had a nice time trying to join the blocks the best way. Here is the result, and a glimpse from the exhibition. Margun also made that nearest quilt you can see, a pattern from Sew Kind of Wonderful.

Project Quilting 14-6
The last challenge this year from Persimon Dreams is taking place this week. I was afraid that I couldn't take part in this challenge, as I'm away from home and without a sewing machine. I was laughing when I saw the challenge, conquer a fear. And that I've done.
So I took my small pink pieces of fabric I had with me and made a little kawandi quilt while sitting on the bus and the ferry for a whole day. Kawandi beats the fear, so this is it.

Wintermysteryproject
Today I finished this winter mystery project basket from @nordiccrafter and @stitchingnotes on Instagram. I used batiks from Island Batik, such beautiful colours. So fun to learn something new and get inspired from the hosts and all fellow sewers.

Project Quilting 14-4
Inspired by a book was the challenge this week on the blog Persimon Dreams. I actually chose a book I'd love to read. I once started it, but never finished, but now it's the time to do that.
The book is "In the Time of the Butterflies" of Julia Alvarez, based on a true story about 4 sisters describing their life under a cruel dictator.
I put butterflies both on the front and back of my little quilt this week. Size 7"x11". And as we have snow again, I also think of a Norwegian song "Sommerfuggel i vinterland" (Butterfly in Winterland) from the singer Halvdan Sivertsen.

Project Quilting 14-3
One of the challenges from Persimon Dreams every year is a quilt block. This year it's called "54-40 or Fight". I've seen this block before, but didn't know the name. On her blog you can find out more about the challenge and you can also read more about the background for naming this block.
This week I made a simple two colour little quilt, sized 7" x 11". I often use black and white bindings for these little hotpads, but this time I chose the blue one.

Shades of Blue Blog Hop
This week is the first blog hop this year from Carla at Creatin' in the Sticks. And you're going to see so many beautiful blue quilts and ideas for things to make. For me January has been almost all blue what comes to quilting. So fun, as Carla challenged us to show you our winter blues.
I made this little hot pad. I love making these small house quilts, 7" x 11". You can see the chickens have left the building.

I'll show you some of my other blue projects this month. This is the one I made for Project Quilting.
I'm participating in a QAL where we make houses. And all my houses are blue. This is one of my houses, and there will be at least 16 in the end.
As always in blog hops I make pincushions. This time I had some beautiful selvages to make them from. It ended up with four, and my Crazy bird is looking after them. Luckily he's blue also.
