Fancy Four Patch Challenge

I hoped to make four blocks every week for this project I started in January. After some weeks with so many activities and no time to sew, I'm back on track again. I have found that I will need fifty blocks, and this week I made number 33-36. You can read more about this project here.

We've got spring here as you can see. I love this time of the year.

Fancy Four patch Challenge

A new challenge from Taryn @reprequiltlover is started. I hope to sew four blocks every week for this project. At least I've started out really good, and the first twelve blocks are done. They are so small, only 5", and will be 4 1/2 finished. Those even smaller HTS blocks are a bit tricky. But as I'm taking them as they come out, without thinking much about the points, it's going quite well.

I'm trying to use up my blue and white scraps for this quilt. Aren't the mini butterflies sweet?

Lupine & Laughter - part 7

Part 7 of Bonnie Hunter Mystery was new blocks. She called them Kitty Ears, and I can understand that. They were fun and easy to make. Here I've also tried to compose a block. I'm waiting for the reveal soon.

Lupine & Laughter - part 4

The worst blocks I could have, but it's part 4 of Bonnie Hunter's Mystery, so I have to make them. After some trouble, I will say they are coming along quite well. But certainly I had to do the mistake Bonnie told us not to do. Anyone else? The little mouse is watching.

Lupine & Laughter - part 3

Clue three for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery is HSTs. The HSTs are different sizes and different colour combos. After some wrong cutting I found the right combos and made a bunch this week. I love chain piecing the blocks after all is cut. This is how long I came this week.

So fun to try to make some blocks too. Always different from what Bonnie reveals at the end.

Lupine & Laughter - part 2

Every week I sew as many blocks I can for this mystery from Bonnie Hunter. This was a fun one, and I've never done flying geese easier. Bonnie's measurement is perfect. Here you can see the two first parts together, as long as I've come. Waiting for tomorrow.

Lupine & Laughter - part 1

Every year in November there's a mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter, running until the end of January. Clue 1 was released a week ago, and of course I had to try. Every week I make some of the blocks, and then I decide how big I can make the quilt when all the clues are released. As we've got plenty of lupines here where I live, I'm quite familiar with the colours. And as always I make it scrappy.

Here are my first blocks, and the pile I made the first week. Now on to the next clue from yesterday. Visit Bonnie's blog to find all about the mystery. It's so fun, and you learn so much.

Scrappy meets thrift

I've been making these blocks every week for months now. It's a challenge from @repreoquiltlover, and you can still jump in. This week I counted 250 small blocks, and as that was my goal, I now have to find out how to join them. Actually it's supposed to be a neutral in-between block, but I love them together like on the picture. The problem is that the finished quilt will be too small. Have to think about it for a while.

Scrappy blocks

Almost every week the last months I've made some small blocks for this project. It's a challenge from @reprequiltlover, the blocks are 2 1/2", and they will finish 2" in a quilt. But first i need many more of them. By now I have about 180, and I will need at least 250.

Economy blocks - a challenge

This week Taryn on @reproquiltlover tempted me with these mini blocks. And I had to start immediately. It's a fun sew-along called "scrappymeetsthriftchallenge", and you could certainly jump in if you like. My first blocks were done yesterday. Now I'm preparing for many more of them the next weeks to come. Hopefully I can use many of my precut scraps. And to get the blocks perfect, I foundation piece them.

Old Town Mystery

A couple of weeks ago Bonnie Hunter posted the reveal, and I've started to join the smaller pieces to make blocks. I have planned to finish a baby quilt from these blocks, hopefully during April. I just have to cut and sew some more small pieces.

Old Town Mystery #6 and #7

With an extra clue for Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt this week I have to try to catch up the next days. Clue 6 was easy, as we have made those HSTs already in other colours. The small flying geese are so sweet. I love small pieces, so this was perfect for me. And I'm happy that we started joining some of the clues already and make bigger blocks.

Here is a picture of all the different blocks we've already made.

Old Town Mystery #4

Clue 4 in Bonnie Hunter's Mystery is under making this week. I joined the wrong sides of the triangles at first, and had to unpick a bunch. But now I'm getting nice HSTs. I'm excited about these colours together. Hopefully they will work fine.

Old Town Mystery #2

This week I've been working with clue 2 of the mystery from Bonnie Hunter. Yesterday she published clue 3, so even if I didn't finish all the small fourpatches, I'll start the new blocks today.

Old Town Mystery #1

This time of the year is mystery time from Bonnie Hunter. As usual I'll try to make as many blocks I can every week. After that I will decide what to do with them. Always something to learn from Bonnie.

Clue 1 was a flying geese block. I started a bit late, so these are my first geese. Tomorrow on to clue 2 before we get the next step on Friday.

A new project

Every year my friend Margun and I have a new project making the same quilt, but using different fabrics and colours. Then we send it to the exhibition for the Norwegian Quilt Assossiation's annual meeting in March. We live in different parts of Norway, and meet a couple of times every year. But we talk together often and send pictures.

This year we were together a couple of weeks ago, and decided to make a scrappy house quilt with houses in bright colours. I need to make at least three houses every week to finish the top before Christmas. Here are my first six blocks.

City Sampler - squares

I've almost forget about my blog these days. But here's a new post, at last. I'm still making one Tula Pink block every week. I haven't got the original fabrics, so I have to find my own way through this book. The coffee block will hopefully work well.

Finished block 85 this week. And with that all the square blocks are finished. Here are pictures of some of them, and all together.
