Il est fini! FAL first finish.

Mon quilt pour Béa et Cecile Quilt-a-long est fini, et je suis très heureuse.

Yesterday after midnight I finished this quilt for Béa and Cecile Quilt-a-long. This is also my first finish for FAL17. I really like how it came out. We made two log cabin blocks every week for eight weeks. I made them wonky and scrappy, as I love such quilts. Here are some photoes of my housequilt. Så vidt innen tidsfristen fikk jeg denne quilten i Béa og Cecile sin quilt-a-long ferdig. Er veldig fornøyd med hvordan den ble tilslutt. Trykk på linken og se mange andre flotte log cabin quilter.

QAL med improviserte blokker

I love to use scraps, and a couple of days ago I found the QAL on Elm Street Quilts. Now I can take part in the two last rounds there. This week the theme is strips and curves. I made this block, and I'm going to use it for something later this week.

Jeg elsker å bruke rester, og da passet det bra å finne en QAL hos Elm Street Quilts. Da kan jeg være med på de siste to rundene her. Denne uken er det strimler som skal brukes, og senere denne uka skal jeg sy denne blokken til et ferdig produkt.

Béa et Cécile Quilt-a-Long

Après 8 semaines de quilt-a-long chez Béa et Cecile, les 16 blocs sont finis.

I tried to finish my top, too, but all the houses need roofs. So I have to use the weekend to get it done. Here are my last blocks, and all the blocks together. I'll show you the top as soon as it's ready.

Alle 16 blokkene i denne quilt-a-longen er nå ferdig. Da gjenstår det å sy tak på alle, og finne en måte å sy dem sammen på. Denne skal bli ferdig i løpet av de neste to ukene.

Béa et Cécile Quilt-a-Long

J'éspère que tout le monde peut lire l'anglais,  parce que je trouve difficile d'écrire tout en français.

I'm taking part in Béa et Cécile log-cabin QAL in France. Now I can combine sewing and reading French. But I find it a bit difficult to write everything in French, so it's going to be English, as usual. 

We are supposed to sew two log-cabin blocks every week for eight weeks. I've thought about making a quilt with scrappy and wonky house blocks for a long time, and now was the right time to do it. If you study the blocks, you'll see that I've put different animals in the windows.

Then I'll put roofs on the houses, just now I finished the two first blocks.

I'm going to have some other blocks in my quilt, too. These are some of them, but I haven't decided yet how it's going to look like in the end. This quilt changes in my head every day, but I think I may call it a modern one, at least not a traditional quilt. Next month you'll find out how it's developing. My plan is to finish it in March.

2016 Finish-A-Long Q1

To finish some of my UFOs, I decided to take part in a finish-a-long. Leanne and some of her fellow quilting bloggers are hosting this along. Jump over to the linky party to see what great projects others are planning to finish.

The first quilt I'd love to finish is this denim quilt. I made it long ago, and my friend Janne quilted it. Now I have to bind it, and get it ready for use.

The next one is another quilt needing binding. It's a typical scrap quilt, and it's quilted by Sølvi. I love scrap quilts, and I'm looking forward to finishing this one. Think it will be perfect for my new sofa.

In December I took part in Temecula's advent calendar. We made twelve mini blocks, and now I'd like to quilt and bind this little beauty.

At last I've started an alphabet quilt. This will be a fun baby quilt, and I hope to finish it in a months time.

Selvage-along, link-up

Today it's time for a link-up in this along. I've digged out all my selvages, and this has been really fun. I didn't finish anything at all, but my hot pad is nearly there. And I also have another one to finish before the weekend. You can see it here later this week.

These are blocks ready to be a larger quilt. Maybe this layout is perfect. My inspiration for this is at Quilty Habit.

These feathers are going into a runner. Great inspiration at Quilts of a Feather.

I'm going to make a zippered pouch.

And what is this going to be? I've not decided yet. Maybe a front for a bag?

This was the nearest I came a finish. This is one of two hot pads. You can see them both finished on Friday.


















Har vært med på en sy-along med jarekanter. Det var kjekt å finne fram posen som jeg har spart på lenge. Er kommet godt igang, og skal få noen av disse tingene ferdig i løpet av den neste måneden.

Selvage-along

So fun to be inspired to use my selvages in this selvage-along. Some days ago we got the pattern for feathers. I will try to sew two of them. I had some problems sewing together the selvages, and found that it was easier with a foundation. So I made these four halves, and will make the feathers next weekend.

I have plans for other projects too, and have started to make selvage fabrics. This is so fun, and I recommend you all to cut off and use your selvages.

Har meldt meg på denne alongen, og for noen dager siden fikk vi mønsteret til disse, som skal bli fjær. Dessuten har jeg flere planer for jarekantene, og har startet med å lage nytt stoff ved å sy dem sammen, både rett og på skrå. Får se hva det blir til etterhvert.

Selvage-along

I'm trying to use my selvages, and suddenly I found this at Quilty Habit and Quilts of a Feather.

I was supposed to show how I store my selvages, and here it is. I put them in a plastic bag every time I clean up my sewing table. All the plastic bags I put in a bigger one. Have to use more of them soon, and this will be just the right time to do it.

I make pincushions and potholders from my selvages. Please enjoy some pictures showing the way I work and some finished things. You may see more here.
