One of the challenges from Persimon Dreams every year is a quilt block. This year it's called "54-40 or Fight". I've seen this block before, but didn't know the name. On her blog you can find out more about the challenge and you can also read more about the background for naming this block.
This week I made a simple two colour little quilt, sized 7" x 11". I often use black and white bindings for these little hotpads, but this time I chose the blue one.

On the blog Persimon Dreams this week the challenge is all about pink. I found my plastic bag with pink scraps and started sewing. I had a beautiful pink pincushion to put in the middle of this little quilt. The quilt is 7"x11". There is still time for you to make a quilt for the challenge before the deadline tomorrow.

I didn't think I had time to meet this week's challenge. But today I just had to find a couple of hours to sew. Rhythm & Repetition was the theme from Persimon Dreams, and I made a little useful hot pad, sized 7"x 11". Just one challenge left this year for Project Quilting.
As you can see I never came out of the kitchen from last round. I made a potholder to prevent burning my fingers. I think I'll need another one, but that must be next week. The challenge from Persimon Dreams this week was diamonds, and you can see I placed one on the front piece.

I made some new mug rugs for this hop. This time I made them square, and log cabin is such a great way to do just that.

This week is orange for me and other quilters around the world. This fun blog hop is hosted by Carla on Creatin' in the Sticks. And you can find many new ideas to put on your to-do-list.
I love recycling fabrics, and here I have made a little table cloth for a veranda table.
I also made a little hot pad for my pizza/serving tray. This is also made of reused fabrics, both the front and the back.
As usual, I had to make a new orange pincushion. No blog hops without it from me.

A quite easy one this month. But I'm happy to at last find and make this beautiful potholder. This little quilt will stay in my kitchen the rest of this year. Here it was at the beginning of the month. Thanks to Elm Street Quilts it's now finished.

One Monthly Goal July Finish Link-up
As I will be away from my sewing machine parts of this month, I have chosen an easy goal this time to finish together with Elm Street Quilts. This little quilt I made while taking a class some years ago. When I found it, I thought it was too pretty to just stay in a box. Now it will shine in my kitchen in a while, when it gets the binding on.

I just finished the binding on this new hot pad. And it ended up in a beautiful rhododendron, with just the perfect colours. But I wonder, what is up and what is down on this one? As usual 7"x11".
