The Winter Blues Blog Hop

I've had so much fun using my blue fabrics the last two weeks. I even used all the smallest pieces of blue in my doll bed quilt, using 1/4" hexies. I love how this came out.





If you have visited my blog before, you probably know that I love pincushions. So I had to make two for the hop. As I live in Norway, you should have got pictures with my pincushions in the snow. But with no snow here, you can get them among the flowers outside my door.





The last thing I made for the hop is this hot pad. I love making them, and they are great gifts. They are 7"x 11", and just the right size for a lasagna pan or as a mug rug. Can you spot that little sweet kittie?

    Turid, all your Winter Blues sewing is fantastic. I am always amazed at your teeny tiny hexies! What an adorable doll bed quilt! Your pin cushions are always a favorite to see. And the hot pads too are always a wonderful table dressing that is functional.

    Such beautiful things you made from blue! I didn't realize just how small the hexagons were until your hand was in the picture. That's tiny! It would be hard to pick a favorite project, but I really do like the pincushion with the scissors holder.

    Look at all those wonderful blue projects! The hot pad and the pincushions are lovely but the doll quilt is totally outstanding. I love hexies but 1" hexies are the smallest I've worked with - I am so impressed by your use of 1/4" hexies!!
