Finish-a-long Q3

I like to start things much better than to finish them. Last quarter I just finished one of two, but so much work on that one. Now I have two scrappy project to finish.

1. Two pincushions
I'm pretty sure I can make these two blocks into two pincushions.

2. Zigzag quilt

For the third time I try to finish this one. Do you think I will succeed this time?

Finish-a-long Q2

I'm trying again to finish these two projects. Thanks to Leanne on the blog She can quilt for beeing one of the hosts to challenge us.

1. Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt
I really moved this project a bit forth the last months. I could have finished it if I have had enough blocks. But when I found that I had to make a bunch of new blocks, it stopped. Now I have the outer borders left, and I hope to manage that before the summer holiday.

2. Zigzag quilt, EPP with half hexagons
This has been a real longterm project. I think the last blocks are done, and now I have to quilt and bind it. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

La Passion - FAL second finish

So, after almost 6 years of hand piecing and hand quilting, my La Passion is finished. The pattern is made by Grit Kovacs, and you can find it here. This has been a long and interesting journey. It will end with an exhibition at Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe in May. I have tried to take pictures this week, but the weather has been really bad, with snow and wind. I promise to come back with nice pictures as soon as we have better weather conditions.

In January I picked four projects to finish before April. I managed two of them, and I'm so happy. Now on to the pictures I was able to take during the week. Enjoy!

FAL first finish, RSC yellow and winners

I find it so perfect for February's yellow challenge to repost this beautiful batik quilt I finished for the Island Batik blog hop a couple of weeks ago. Here you can see what my plans for this quilt looked like in the beginning of January. I've also made some small blocks with my tiniest scraps. I've drawn winners for my pincushions and sent them mail. My blog hop posts are updated with the winners, if you like to see who won.

Finish-a-long Q1

Dette året satser jeg på å få ferdig noen UFOer, og da er denne FAL utfordringen perfekt. En av vertene i år er Leanne på bloggen She can quilt. Dette er hva jeg forsøker å få ferdig første kvartal.

1. Island Batik quilt for January
Just now it's about like this. All fabrics cut at least.

2. La Passion
I've finished the top, and have to finish the quilting this quarter. Pattern by Grit Kovacs, and it's supposed to go to Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe in May.

 3. Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt
This is how far I've come by now. Have you noticed that I use about the same colours on these two quilts? Inspiration from Norwegian nature.

4. Zigzag quilt, EPP with half hexagons
I need to do the last few blocks, find borders to match and quilt it.
