Elementz Blog Hop + giveaway

Tammy Silvers is a fabric designer and made this line for Island Batik. She has made the most beautiful batiks in bright colours, real eye candy. So if you, as I did before, think batiks are just pastels, you have to read on.

First I made this 11"x24" sandwich and chose a monkey wreath window on the front. The edges are rounded a bit, I quilted it and put on a binding.

I used Aurifil thread for the quilting, it went like a dream.

The zipper is fastened with quilting on the binding.

and the back. Here I  can embroider a name if I like.

I like to have a chance to hang it up.

It's deep so I can have my things standing inside.

I'm so happy with this bag.

Mini Love with Island Batik

As Island Batik Ambassadors we're given fabric to make beautiful things throughout the year. February's theme is Mini Love, and I made some small things to show you that you can use even the smallest scraps. These fabrics are so beautiful that I have to use up every inch of it.

Førstehjelpsmapper

Har sydd noen slike mapper nå før jul. Fant noen på Pinterest der de hadde satt på et førstehjelpskors. Disse falt jeg helt for, og sydde likegodt en hel haug.

I made some small pouches earlier, and then I found some on Pinterest. They were made as first aid kit pouches. When I first started, I couldn't stop.

Hello Kitty

Har helt falt for slike små mapper. Denne gangen er det Hello Kitty på framsiden. Synes de ble litt søte, jeg.

So addicting these small bags. Today I've made two Hello Kitty pouches. And I love them.

Små symapper

Disse mappene er flotte venninnegaver eller presanger til ungdom som flytter på hybel. Der kan de oppbevare nål og tråd så de i det minste kan sy i en knapp selv. Og har du ikke for mange trådsneller, er det plass til dem her.

These pouches are so fun to make. And they are perfect to give away to youngsters, with some needles and tread inside. Then they at least can sew on a button. Also nice to give to a friend with some beautiful thread and other goodies in it.

For katteelskere

Har sydd to små barnetoalettmapper eller reisetoalettmapper for katteelskere. Fint å ha med seg når en skal reise med fly uten å sende bagasje.

I made two children's or travellers toilet bags today. They are also good for cat lovers, and you may keep goodies for your cat in them. A nice denim reuse project too.

Toalettmappe

Eller er det en pung for å samle på vinkorker? I alle fall mye man kan bruke en slik til. Så må jeg minne dere om min giveaway, som trekkes på søndag. Du finner innlegget her.

Småtteri

Har sydd en liten pose eller mappe av det panelet jeg gjorde ferdig forrige uke. Foreløpig er det en rett pose, men med et par sømmer i bunnen kan det bli en mappe som kan stå av seg selv.  Kjekt med slike raske prosjekter.

I made a little pouch from the panel I finished last week. It can stay flat, or get a couple og seams to stand on the table. I love fast projects like this.

Denim med mere

Slike har jeg sydd før, men har gitt vekk alle. Så nå var det på tide å sy noen nye. Liker å bruke rester av gamle dongeribukser og strimler som er blitt igjen etter andre prosjekter.

I've made many of these before, but have given them away. So I made a couple of new ones today. I like to use old denim jeans and scraps from other projects.

Nytt produkt med sekskanter

Mens jeg enda har framgangsmåten friskt i minne, sydde jeg likegodt en ny slik toalettmappe. Den forrige er alt kommet til Japan. Lurer på hvor denne tar veien?

 

While I still remember how I made this kind of bag, I made a new one this week. The first I made is now in Japan. Wonder where this one will end up?

Moda Punctuation pung

Sist helg viste jeg et applikert sekskantstykke. Her får du se hva det ble til. Dette er mitt bidrag i en swap, og nå skal jeg sende den til Japan. Stoffene er fra Moda, og passer godt sammen.

Last weekend you saw a finished hexagon piece of work. Here is what I made out of it. This is what I will send to my partner in a hexie swap, and it's going to Japan. The fabrics are from Moda, and they're working really well together.

Pingvinmappe - penguin pouch

Litt for liten til å ha pingviner i, men mye annet får plass i denne lille toalettmappen.

Too small to put the penguines in, but you may keep many other things in this little pouch.

Sminkepung

Etter alle sekskantene jeg har sydd i det siste, fikk jeg behov for å sy noe enkelt. Datt over Marianne på denne siden. Hun har sydd en slik, og til og med gitt oss mønster. Var dog litt mer plukk enn jeg hadde regnet med, men litt kom av at jeg valgt et for kort glidelås. Tror denne er enkel dersom du bruker ett som er litt lengre. Når du først får taket på denne, er det sikkert lett å forandre størrelse på den.

I found this pattern on Marianne's blog. I had to sew something easy after all the hexagons. It wasn't that easy, but I think that's because I bought a too short zipper. Should be easier next time. You can easily change size on this one too.
