Good Fortune - FAL-Q2 first finish

For FAL-Q2 I hoped to finish two projects. Now one of them, my Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt, is complete. I made it half size of the original, and with fewer blocks too. The size is 77x77 cm. My friend Sølvi at Sølvis Quiltestudio quilted it beautifully, and I'm quite happy with the result.

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt

Every year Bonnie Hunter gives us a mystery quilt, starting in November/December. Last year I decided to try to sew just half of the blocks. And more, I did them half size of the original. I also changed the colours, and of course made it totally scrappy. In the end I needed more than half of the blocks, and before I can finish it, I have to make more small half triangle squares and string blocks. But I have lots of four-patches left, don't know why. The quilt will finish 30"x30".

Her er så langt jeg har kommet på Bonnie Hunters siste mystery quilt. Har forandret antallet blokker, størrelsen på blokkene og fargene, men ikke mønsteret. Har brukt bare rester i denne.

First sign of spring today.

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt #7 and release

This year's mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter is Good Fortune. It was revealed last week, and I have joined some of the blocks. Now I have an idea of what it will look like. I didn't choose Bonnie's colours, rather just black/grey, green and neutrals  But I'm happy with the result. I hope to finish it later this month.

I have made just half of the blocks this year. What I didn't tell was that I made it half size also. The blocks are so small and cute. I might have to make more blocks, if I find my quilt too small.

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt #6

This year's mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter is Good Fortune. She is often sewing string quilts, and clue 6 is all about strings. Yesterday we got another clue, and I've made a good start on that too. The reveal will be soon, I think.

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt #5

These triangle blocks in clue 5 of Good Fortune were so fun to sew.  They are from this year's mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter, and I've changed up all the colours. So many different sized blocks are done, and I hope to sew some of them together when we get clue 6 tomorrow.

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt #4

String blocks are given us on clue 4 of Good Fortune, this year's mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter. I love them, and yesterday I made them all. But I didn't make them orange, rather light grey. So now you can see all my colours in play. So fun to move them around and try new patterns.

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt #2

Ready for clue 2 of Good Fortune, this year's mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter?  Click the link to find the pattern and everything you need with lots of tips and tricks. I didn't need to find out what other colours to use, because I use black instead of blue. So I can wait for the next clue on Friday, and see if the green is coming. I need some more HSTs, but I think I can manage that before we get the next clue.

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt #1

Every year late November Bonnie Hunter is giving us a mystery quilt. Click the link to find the pattern and everything you need with lots of tips and tricks. Last Friday the first part was released, and today I've made 120 four-patches. I'm not really sure what colours I will use, but I have some possibilities, without having to buy any fabrics. For now I started with grey and neutrals. Visit the link-up to see all the different colours from the other participants.
