Happy Galentine's Day!

In Norway we are getting more familiar with Valentine's Day. But I don't know if you know something about Galentine's Day. Actually it is the day before Valentine's, and it's celebrating lady friendship. I made a card for all my sewing friends. And as a present to you, I'll give you a tutorial on how to make it.

 

As  Island Batik Ambassadors we are given fabric to make something for this day, and for months to come. My box for this year hasn't arrived yet, but I had some small pieces left from earlier projects. So I made this beautiful card. So happy to use all the different seams on my sewing machine.

A nice project to use all my tiniest scraps. Sewn on a foundation.

I made me a paper template to cut the heart

I I sewed the heart to a background and batting

Aurifil Thread is great to use in all seams here

Sewed the binding to the front, turned around and glued it to the back

Glued a card on the back side, and sewed two rounds on the edge

Kort og påbegynte hus

Har sydd noen nye hus idag. Ble ikke ferdig å quilte og montere dem. Men godt begynt er halv fullendt, er det jo noe som heter.

Har dessuten sydd noen nye kort. Det tar sin tid med slike små stoffbiter.

I built some houses today, but I didn't manage to quilt and bind them. I also made some cards. It isn't a job done in a hurry with these small pieces of fabric.
