Getaway blog hop with Island Batik

Finally it's my turn to show you what I did for this blog hop. I have named the finished quilt "Heading west", and that's actually what I did, after a mini holiday with my daughter and her family east in Norway. This is also my last quilt as an Island Batik Ambassador. Thank you to Island Batik and all my fellow ambassadors for all the joy and friendship you've brought me the last two years.

At the end of this post it's also a giveaway from Island Batik, as well as an extra giveaway from me.

The Island Batik fabric line I worked with is called Bazaar, and I really love the colours.

All fabrics used in this project are given me by Island Batik.

I love to sew log cabin, and to make a change I just made half logs this time. Here's my fabrics all cut up and ready to sew. I used absolutely all the different fabrics I got.

I used Aurifil Thread for piecing and quilting. I thought this spool would last forever, but now I have to find a place to buy a new one soon.

My longarm quilter Sølvi did a fantastic job, and we chose green thread for the quilting. Look at those swirls. Hobbs batting cotton 80/20 is perfect, and a choice I often do.

I love these fabrics and the finished quilt. I can feel the spring right around the corner when I look at it. But just now we have winter and snow. Enjoy the photos on a sunny snow day, Size 54"x72".

There's a giveaway on Island Batik's blog. Click and win beautiful fabrics. I have an extra giveaway too. If you tell me in a comment that you're interested, you'll be in the draw for this pincushion with a pocket. It's made of fabrics from Island Batik. There will be some fabric squares as well in the envelope. I'll draw a winner on February 2nd.

WINNER: Allison

I recommend visiting my fellow ambassadors to see their beautiful quilts.
