Topsy Turvy Blog Hop + giveaways

This last month I've been working on a beautiful, fun, beginner friendly, scrappy quilt. I was honored to make a test quilt for Preeti at Sew Preeti Quilts. I can highly recommend this pattern, and even if it looks advanced, it's easy and fast to sew. If you use a jelly roll, it will be even easier. There are pictures and graphics, so easy to follow even if your English isn't too good. I used scraps, except for the background fabric, and this is how it came out.

Quilt info:

Made by: Me

Pattern: Topsy Turvy by Preeti at SewPreetiQuilts on Etsy

Size: 55" x 68"

More info:

Here is Preeti's version made from batiks! Her pattern was originally published in Make Modern Magazine, issue 47. She now has it available as a single pattern, on sale (25% off) until September 15th. Visit her blog for more beautiful pictures and another chance to win a copy of Topsy Turvy pattern.

I've had this quilt top with me out to take some photos. Luckily the weather has been nice the last weeks. For this one my plan is to quilt it either by hand or with my domestic machine later this year.

Here you can see that I really used some small scraps in the blocks. And as I often use teal and lime fabrics, I have lots of scraps in those colours in my boxes.

And if you like to see other versions of this quilt, and I really recommend it, you can follow these links for my fellow pattern testers.

I enjoyed your photo shoot. I live on the coast, too, but we don’t have that fine white sand. Just lovely! XO, Kaholly

  10. Teal and Lime make a great combination! Your version of Topsy Turvy is fantastic. A selvage pincushion would be fun to have. My sewing area is green with purple accents. But scrappy any combo would be so fun.
