Soma with the blog Whims and Fancies is hosting a virtual quilt show this week. I think this is a cool thing to do, and there are already lots of blogposts to visit to look at fantastic quilts and other fabric items. Click the link under the picture and just sit down to dream sweet dreams.

These are some of my quilts I've done the last years.
I love to use denim, and this is one of my favorite denim quilts. I collect jeans from my friends, and change the jeans into quilts. This quilt is now pinned to many pinterest boards, so you may have seen it before. I have a tutorial here on my blog, if you like to make one yourself.
This is another denim quilt, and I've combined old bathroom curtains with denim. The only new fabric here is the pink in the middle.
I also love scrap quilts, and in this one I've used stripes and larger scraps. With Kaffe Fasett fabrics in between the blocks, I think this came out beautifully.
This quilt I made for one of my sons. He saw it in the window in a quilt shop, and draw a plan for me to sew it. Made of bigger and smaller HSTs, and you have to study it closely to find out how to get those stripes. A decorative quilt it is.
If you've visited me before, you'll know that I love pincushions. I've made and sent many of them away in pincushion swaps, and I've received many beautiful ones from others, too. You can see more of them on my blog here.
I also love hexagons, and this is a little pouch I made for a swap some time ago. I sew hexies in different sizes, the smallest ones are just 1/4". You'll find many hexie things on my blog. The largest I've done is not ready yet, named La Passion, and it is going to be 17 100 hexies in the end.
As it's advent soon, the last quilt I will show you is an advent calendar I made to my daughter. This one is easy and fun to make. So just go ahead.
You're always welcome to visit my blog if you like what you see. And don't forget to jump over to Whims and Fancies to look at all the other eye candy you'll find there.

Another great trunk show. I adore that scrap quilt with the Kaffe fabrics! I has such a fresh look and an airy feel to it! Thanks for the great show.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic trunk show. :) Yes!!! I've seen your denim and orange quilt several times, and fall in love with it all over again. Thank you for sharing a tutorial for it. I really love all of your up=cycled works. Using the bathroom curtains was brilliant.

ReplyDeleteI love your denim quilts and especially love the scrappy diamond quilt - just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the denim quilts! I have a closet full of old jeans that I haven't quite decided how to use yet. One of these days I'll finally get to cutting them and using them :)
ReplyDeleteI love to use denim as well. It is so versatile to recycle. Your quilts are gorgeous. How clever are you to stitch the quilt the son saw in the window from his plan! Scrappy quilts are fantastic aren't they. Yours is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI love your quilts, and especially the scrappy ones! So colorful!

What a lovely collection of quilts (and pincushions!) You are right about the scrappy one with the Kaffe Fassett fabrics - it is stunning.
ReplyDeleteLove the denim quilts! I made a huge log cabin denim pillow for my son's bed and all the denim is so soft. The quilt you made for your son has such an interesting pattern ... good for him for knowing his mom could make this up from just a sketch he made.

I love your quilts, but was looking for the pattern for the denim and orange log cabin. My son's house is ultra modern, and it would be perfect. He has Danish heritage, and his home reflects his Scandinavian roots. His wife tells people, it is an IKEA showroom! Please help...Thank you in advane
ReplyDeleteYou'll find the pattern on my blog, under tutorial.
