I'm a lucky pattern tester for Kristy, and she makes the most fantastic paper patterns. My first challenge was this garden gnome. You can imagine that this is not the easiest pattern. Fortunately I've done some paper piecing before. I would not recommend this for beginner paper piecers.

I started with the fabrics, and found the colours to use.

I recommend to use pins before I sew. Then you can find out if the fabric covers the area it should.

Her er alle delene ferdig til sammensying.

All the pieces ready for joining.

Men i all verden?!?

What happened here?!?  Think I was a bit too eager. And this was not the only mistake.

After some ripping and sewing, the gnome was ready, and so sweet. He's got pins for eyes. But he will get better eyes later.

  3. love your gnome, think I will have to set myself a task for 2014 to learn paper piecing as there seem to be so many lovely things that can be done once the knack is learnt
