En UFO og en pingvin

Lette litt rundt i posene mine idag, og fant fram til denne UFOen som har blitt liggende urørt lenge. Det var gøy å sy et par nye blokker på den, til avveksling fra alle sekskantene. Så fikk jeg denne nydelige nåleputen fra Janora i USA. Denne skal maksimalt få holde de fineste knappenålene mine. Som dere ser så fikk han seg en ny venn her i Norge.

I suddenly found this old half hexagon work, and made a couple of new blocks for it. So fun after all the hexagons I'm normally working with. Then I got this beautiful penguin pincushion from Janora in USA. I think he will keep my most  beautiful pins. As you can see he has already found a new friend here in Norway. Thank you so much Janora, he's the cutest.

Triangulation Challenge 9-2

On the blog Persimon Dreams  there are challenges every other week just now. This week's challenge is triangulation. And as I've got lots of scraps, I started to cut out triangles. And when I finished sewing triangles in four rows, I put them together like a log cabin. And my snowman show you the result here. Size: 9" x 10". From Sunday evening it's possible to vote on this and other fantastic works participating in this challenge. You just click the link and the heart in the corner, and you've got 10 votes.

På bloggen Persimon Dreams er det akkurat nå nye utfordringer annenhver uke. Denne gangen var det trekanter, og da var det bare å starte i restekassen. Og da jeg var ferdig med å sy sammen trekanter, satte jeg dem sammen som en log cabin. Snømannen min viser dere det ferdige resultatet. Det går unna. Nå er siste hjørnet godt igang. Dessuten har jeg klar flere grønne til den siste sirupssnippen.

Last corner in the work. Soon it's only black hexies left. But first some new greens basted for the last diamond.

Bloggbok

Så lenge jeg har hatt denne bloggen har jeg fått laget en slik bloggbok. Så nå har jeg fem stykker. Disse er kjekke å ha, både nå og sikkert også senere. På forsiden har jeg bilde av min Bonnie Hunter mysteriequilt. Baksiden har et mindre teppe med stoffer fra Island Batik. Mange av sidene er preget av batikkstoffer. Ellers er det jo mye La Passion Hexagonquilt, samt andre sekskantarbeider.

As long as I've had this blog, I've always made a blogbook. So now I have five of them. So fun to have, both now and later. On the front I have my Bonnie Hunter mysteryquilt. The back side has a smaller quilt with batiks from Island Batik. Many pages have different quilts with those great batiks. Then again you'll certainly find many pages about La Passion Hexagonquilt and other hexie projects. I recommend all to make a book of your blog, it's great fun.

La Passion - 15 600 hexagons

Sydde et nytt hundre sekskanter i går. Måtte vente til det ble lyst for å fotografere. Enda snø og is på verandaen, så litt ruglete ble det denne gangen.

I did a new hundred hexies yesterday. But I had to wait for the daylight today to take a photo. Still snow and ice on my veranda. Hopefully a better picture next time.

Vårlengsel

Just had to make this springy pincushion today. I found many things reminding me of spring, inside my house. But then again I went outside, and there were just snow and ice. Think I still have to wait for weeks, sigh.

Bare måtte sy en vårlig nålepute i dag. Mange ting inne minnet meg om vår. Men så skulle jeg ut, og der var igneting annet enn snø og is. Må nok vente en stund til, sukk.

Half way to the next hundred today. And with light and almost no wind, I took my La Passion out to take some nice photoes.

Halvveis til neste hundre i dag. Og med fint lys og bare litt vind, gikk det bra å ta bilder ute.

Scrap Happy i januar

Litt forsinket for Rutigt sin restedag tar jeg nå en dag med restebiter. Har tenkt å sy opp noen småbiter til større stykker. Hadde mange små spisser, og en lang remse med lyseblått stoff. Sydde også en ny resteblokk, og bunken vokser stadig.

A bit late for Rutigt's Scrap Happy Day I found my scraps and made some new blocks. Fun projects.

Four Seasons Blog Hop with Island Batik

Welcome to the blog hop showing new collections of beautiful fabrics from Island Batik. You can also find many interesting giveaways if you follow the blog hop throughout January. Here you can find the Island Batik giveaway, and on the bottom of this post you'll find one from me. And on all blogs on the list you can win fabric, patterns etc. by commenting on the posts.

Island Batik Ambassadors were sent different collections of the newest fabics arriving the shops just now. My collection is called ELEMENTZ, and if you know me, you can see that these fabrics really suit me, bright and colorful.

The theme is spring, and I started out with these wonderful green fabrics.

But soon I found that I had to really show you the Norwegian spring. It's pretty unique, because you often can find all four seasons in the same week. Yes, and sometimes even during a day you can find them all. The weather is rapidly changing from morning to evening.

My thoughts started to turn around the logo for this blog hop. I used all the fabrics in a beautiful mix like this. The squares are 3 1/2".

And with the appliques it ended up like this. Finished size: 36" x 36".

My giveaway is a first aid kit pouch with scraps and leftovers from this quilt. It's open to all readers all over the world. Just leave me a comment here to be in the draw. I'd love to hear where you are from and what your favorite color is. I'll pick a winner at February 2.

On Ringo Lake Mystery quilt

Bonnie Hunter's mysteries are so fun to sew. This one is a consentration exercise. I've got some blocks together, and today I tried to put on sashings. And I think I have to take some more time before I start that process. I had to look at many other's, and found that people struggle with how they turn the pieces.

Bonnie Hunter sine mysteriequilter er alltid gøy å være med på. Denne er virkelig en konsentrasjonsøvelse. Jeg har fått sydd sammen noen blokker, og tenkte å prøve meg på noe av mellomverket. Men det må jeg ha mer tid på. Man kan snu delene i alle retninger, så her gjelder det å holde tunga beint i munnen. Måtte studere noen andre sine tepper, og jeg ser jo at mange har måttet streve.

Måtte ta fram dette arbeidet i dag. Det har gått litt tregt i det siste. Med snø og vind ute ble det ingen gode bilder, men du kan se at jeg også har startet på det siste hjørnet.

I had to find this work today, and I hoped that it had grown on it's own. But no, so I had to do another hundred myself. With snow and wind outside, I had to take some bad photoes inside. As you can see, I've also started the last corner.
