Three years ago I finished this hexagon quilt for an exhibition in Germany. It is a pattern from Grit Kovacs, and there are 17 300 hexagons in it, size 1/2". It's hand sewn and hand quilted, and you can read more about it if you click La Passion in the side bar.
As the quilt is about 2,6 m square, it's not possible to hang in on the wall. It's been in a bag now for three years. I was so happy when I was invited for a new exhibition in Molde, Norway a couple of weeks ago. There I also had a lecture telling about my life as a quilter, showing many of my quilts.
Since it's been a while, now is the time to also show you this quilt again. On the second picture you can see the inspiration for the chosen colours. It's a bit of Norwegian nature.

ReplyDeletecan you fit it on your bed instead seeing as you do not have wall space?
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely to see it hanging up for everyone to admire. Congratulations on being chosen to do a talk on your quilting life.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see La Passion hanging up once again. Such a gorgeous quilt. Would love to hear the story of the white anemones. Thanks for sharing on the 300th Wednesday Wait Loss.
