Inspired by

I found it so fun to make an art journal page last month, so I have to try again. Thanks for all the support, I love all your nice comments.

The challenge from Art Journal Journey this month is Inspired by... As I've been inspired by @amd_artfuldreamer for a long time, I used one of her works as inspiration to make this piece. I tried to use at least 3 different materials, and I'm looking forward to using many of the things I've been collecting in boxes for years.

  1. I like the mix of materials and the strip with different patterned fabrics down the left is lovely. It’s a super collage design.

  2. I too had a lot of fun making journal pages last month. I love this new page you’ve made. The collage of fabric bits and twisted strips and a spiral all stitched free motion. LOVE the free stitching along the left edge pieces.

  3. That is a really wonderful piece. You made such wonderful textures and colors, and that black design, it sure pops off the background. I am so happy you decided to come back, and maybe you'll be back again with another inspiration soon. Thanks so much for joining us at Art Journal JOurney. Happy April. Hugs-Erika

  4. Gorgeous, Turid!!! Now, you've got me wanting to give this a try, as well. Not that I need ANOTHER distraction from the quilts that need finishing! It's going to be difficult to resist. Thanks for the links! I'm off to try and avoid rabbit holes...

  6. I always love when I see sewing and and even more when I see fabric used in a journal entry. The fact that this is an abstract is amazing. I can see why you would be inspired. The bright bold colors you chose add to the beauty of this collaged and textured gem. I like how you framed the background, too. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey, Turid.
