Snail's trail is the challenge from Persimon Dreams this week. I've never tried this block before actually. So I had to find out of it. And after some ripping, I understood how it worked. I saw some elephants in the block, but couldn't figure out how to show them. So here's my entry named: Where did the elephants go? I keep to the same size, that is 7"x11".

Fun photo shoots! Like the amaryllis and the beribboned twigs the best. All pretty though. I have never done a snail trail either! Good job!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out beautifully, Turid!! What is your plan for the 7 x 11" quilt?
ReplyDeleteI like your elephant trunks block. It reminded me of something I had done years ago. My group had a challenge to use gray plus one (other color) in a piece. I was going to try to make an elephant, but my friend urged me to do an abstract, as I usually do. So I named my abstract piece in gray and turquoise "No Elephants Here" It's a little piece and I do love it.
ReplyDeleteI see the elephant trunks! Love the black background. Black always makes the colors pop.
ReplyDeleteWhy haven't I made a snail's trail quilt? I love them every time I see them! Yours is no exception!
ReplyDeleteso cool! And the name is perfect :) Great work!
ReplyDeleteI've made several quilts based on the snail trail block. You opened my eyes to new possibilities - Elephants. From now on I will only see elephant trunks and smile.
ReplyDeleteGreat job tackling the unknown! Pretty fabrics, too!
ReplyDeleteI have not made a snail's Trail quilt block yet myself. I remember years ago a pattern with cats surrounding the blocks so it was their tails!
ReplyDeleteLove the name of your quilt. I have never seen elephants in this block before. Now I will look for elephants everytime I see this pattern. Usually I call them Monkey's Tails. I once made a large mystery quilt with this block pattern. I certainly was a surprise in the end. Thank you for sharing in my linky party this week ... :) Pat
