Circles - from old to new

On the blog Patchwork Inspirations there is a QAL every year, starting in January. This year the theme is curves. We're supposed to sew 2 blocks every week for 8 weeks. Then join the blocks, and finish a quilt at the end of May.

I had an idea for making block, and the first week I made these.

But as I regarded the blocks this week, I wasn't inspired to go on making them. So I changed, found some old fabrics, and started again. Now I've made four blocks for the first two weeks. And I'm more happy with the new ones. I might need more than 16 blocks for the project I'm thinking of.

As it's the 15th, you can find more scrappy projects at Rutigt today.

  1. What a fun project. Your choice of large scale high contrast dark prints with more subtle low contrast light value prints really bring out the pattern.

  2. I love these beautiful blocks! Fabulous mix of fabrics and your curves look great.

  3. Love your new curvy blocks!

  4. Oh, new project, and new curves ;) I love these new blocks, and colors, it's going to be a beautiful quilt!

  6. Very fun curved blocks. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

  7. My friend, Martha, loved curved blocks. She said that she didn't have a chance to cut off a point with curves! Your blocks are wonderful and I enjoyed remembering Martha!
