Cozy Cabins with Island Batik

The November challenge as ambassadors for Island Batik was to use log cabins. I love that technique, and always come back to it. I had some nice Christmas fabrics, and needed to make something new for the holidays. And as December comes tomorrow, it's the right time to make it warm and cozy in our living room.

Please note: The Island Batik fabrics featured in this post were given to me for use in my role as an Island Batik Ambassador. I also used Aurifil Thread for piecing/quilting, and HOBBS batting.

I'm really loving Aurifil thread, and used it for both piecing and quilting. The red thread on the green fabrics gives this quilt a special touch.

Ultra thin Hobbs batting is just perfect for a table cloth.

The green is a bit greener than on this picture. We don't have much light here north these days.
My fellow ambassador Connie made another Christmas table cloth with a tutorial. Visit her blog if you like to make one yourself. Vicki also used Christmas fabrics and made a Christmas wreath worth looking at.

You can also learn a lot about log cabins by visiting my friend Bea, and see her beautiful quilt here and here.
