Mini La Passion in September

We've had a fantastic summer here, and I've opened all twelve windows on my mini La Passion. Now it's time to start closing them. I've soon finished the first diamond window as you can see. The weight is 200 gram higher than November last year, and the hexagons are 1/4".

I love this pattern by Grit's Life. The link will take you to a gallery showing many beautiful versions of this quilt.

  1. a quarter of an inch! my mind boggles at how tiny that is, there's no room for the seam allowances on the back!

I am amazed and awed! And it is lovely.

  7. Your hexi progress is very impressive! I want to make 1/4" hexis, but I find it very difficult to tuck the fabric around the back of the paper. Do you have any advice? How big do you cut the fabric?

  8. I went to the gallery link you provided and saw all of the other quilts of this design. It’s such a beautiful quilt, in every color people chose to make it in. Is yours the only 1/4 inch hexie version? Sometime I’d like a picture of the backside on part of your quilt. I am curious as to how the seams lie. Do you press them any certain way? Thanks for sharing your progress on the Design Wall Mondays linky party. Hugs, Judy

  9. Hi Turid, I love to check on your progress. Thanks for putting your blog in English even though it is not your first language, and thanks for connecting up to DWM. I would like to know why you choose to make windows and then close them please. Could you just make a bigger diamond shape which includes the window edge? Would that work?
Thanks again, your work is amazing. Jane
