Sometimes I forget to put the progress of a quilt on my blog. This quilt is made after a black and white challenge from Quiltimprovstudio. I've worked on it now and then since February. Yesterday it was finished, and I'm quite happy with how it came out. It's called "Punk", and the size is 25"x25", quilted at home with variegated thread.
I took it to the beach for a photo shoot, and there were two dinosaurs eager to take a closer look, and help me holding the quilt so it didn't blow away.

I love this fun Punk quilt! Black and white with one color is always so striking. I love the stripe between the blocks and of course as a binding. I would bet that someone is missing their dinosausers, but how lucky for you they were there to help you with your photo shoot.
ReplyDeleteGreat improv quilt, love the spikey border and pop of green.
ReplyDeleteLove improv projects! This turned out great!
ReplyDeleteI love improv quilts. This one is striking with the green pop of color. It reminds me that I have a green and black and white quilt op in my to-do stack. Thanks for linking up again the week ... :) Pat
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to invite the two dinosaurs to help you hold it down. It's a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteAwesome finish. I have some black and white fabric similar to this but just haven't found the inspiration to make a quilt yet. Love your splash of green. Thank you for linking it up to Put your foot down.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it, Turid!!! The black and white striped binding is the icing on the proverbial cake.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is soooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I don't think I've come across a quilt with such an effective use of flashes of colour. It's really striking, in the best way. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful friends to help hold your quilt for you! Love this so much. Everything about it is perfection--the color choices, the size, the quilting. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteHi Turid, I just wanted to thank you for linking up to Free Motion Mavericks last time. I have featured your quilt this week. Take care.
ReplyDeleteAnother fun quilt. We're going to the beach in a few days, I might bring some quilts to take pictures if we have space.
