HeLP for old hexies

I always love to start new hexie projects. That means old ones will be put in a bag for later. Now I've found a project I'd really like to finish, and you can probably help me. It's about 75x150 cm by now, and almost covers a bed. Should I stop joining hexies and sew borders to get it big enough for the bed? And what coulour is suitable? Please tell me your opinion, so I will have the courage to take this to an end.

  1. lovely! don't know about a border, maybe just the white or add hexies until it's pretty straight so when you trim straight you'd only trim white...

  2. Are you lookinng for a hexie border or just appliqueing the top to a single piece of fabric? I think if it were mine, I would start by adding enough rosettes so it just covers the top of the mattress. Then maybe another row or 2 of white hexies for an inner border (maybe even a row or 2 of a single color (red or blue maybe) between the white rows), and then random scrappy hexies for the outer border. I hope that's not too much to get it finished - I think it will be gorgeous!

  6. Heilt fantastisk! jeg hadde avslutta når den passa på senga. Du har mye flotte farger i teppet ditt, jeg er veldig svak for svart (eller hvitt) til avslutning , synes det fremhever fargene så fint.

  8. I hope you find a way to finish it that you love. It would be a shame for such a lovely quilt to not get finished and be put on the bed for everyone to admire.

  9. It's beautiful! I would stop and use a white border so all the beautiful colours you used stand out and look fresh.

  10. this looks amazing, maybe a few more rows yet and then I first thought red to make it pop but not sure what colour the room is, as suggested white would also look good, Whatever you do this will look fantastic

  11. Vilket underbart täcke!
Jag hade sytt några till hexagoner och sen en bård i rött.
    Kram

  12. It's beautiful! I am making one very similar to yours. But mine will never be this big since I am already getting tired of it. I would outline the whole thing in white hexies and then applique it to a border of something that goes with the room this quilt will be in.

  13. What a treasure! I do my quilting on my domestic sewing machine so if this was my quilt I would add a nice light border like the background between your blocks (it looks white). I would then have a nice place to do some quilting.

  14. This is stunning!
White edgings would certainly make the top 'pop' even more.
    I love it : )
